Fried standing
We've never cut any of our oxblood lilies to bring indoors; maybe this year we should've. Except for a few new shoots of blooms, the heat has had its way, even with clumps in the deep shade.

I was disappointed last week, too, when my oxblood lilies shriveled in the sun. They had one good day and then they were gone. However, I noticed some buds were still nosing out of the ground so I gave all the clumps a very deep watering. Yesterday the second wave opened, not as magnificent, but still welcome.
I've never tried them as a cut flower either. I wonder how long they last in the vase.
How can it be fall and still 100 degrees?
