Why sales of CDs are falling

There aren't many people remaining who are willing to invest the time necessary to open the case for the first time after purchase.

Not when, with a click of a mouse, you can download from the iTunes store. And just think of the environmental impact. No plastic cases. No plastic discs. And no gas to drive to the mall.

In this household, we're still using dial-up, playing vinyl, owning under 20 CDs, mostly riding the bus, and not shopping at any mall, but somebody did have an extra and unopened Kumbia Kings CD, the one with the terrible Selena tribute and the wonderful "No tengo dinero." So, if this CD were to be bought at full price it would be solely for the mixes of NTD and most of the rest would be waste (and the case has 2 discs in it).
