Jalapa/Xalapa vs. Morelia
We've been to Morelia; we haven't visited Xalapa. Both are state capitals. Both have fairly good transportation connections. Both have institutions of higher learning. Ever since reading the letters of Fanny Calderon de la Barca, I've always wanted to visit. She talks about Vera Cruz and Xalapa in letter five and letter 52. I think that Orizaba is nearby. At any rate, since we know Morelia, we'll probably do more reading about Xalapa. Does anybody remember Xalapeno Charlie's, here in town? It was in more than one location, along the way.

I am his Xalapeno Charlie's daughter. He still lives in Austin and occasionally he cooks up hot foods for a party or his friends. I miss the restaurant and the constant hot food. Its so delicious.
AHHHHHHHHHHHH Xalapeno Charlie! I remember!
What a fun man to play with back in the easy days...
He knew the best places to swim freely at Travis and his Cadillac was too cool. I miss him and I do believe I met the daughter that had the wild crush on another Charlie that was hot in Austin then...can you figure out who I might be?

Xalapeno Charlie has two daughters. The one who left the first comment and ME - the one who had the wild crush on the other Charlie. Dad is standing here as I type this and we would love to know who you are. conniecoach2@yahoo.com
NO is the same!
What do you mean NO is the same? Connie and I are two very different people. I am the youngest and had the crush on Will and Connie had the crush on Charlie. So who are you?

How funny! I can't believe this comment made it's way to the original Xalapeno and daughter Connie. I am Margie from West. (long brown hair..a teacher..and one of your dad's better choices!) I was on this website reading about a trip I almost made to Jalapa when I saw someone spell it Xalapa, then asked if anyone remembered Xalapeno Charlie! I'll never forget him. Tell him hello if you ever come back to this site, that is...I live in rural Ellis County, married for 24 yrs. & have two sons ages 21 and 17. I still have long brown hair but there's a few strands of gray that I keep well covered! Well, what happened with the other Charlie? Did your dad ever open up another restaurant? I don't make it to Austin much but I still keep in touch with my friends that own MusicMakers and a couple of bars on 6th Street. Let me hear from you Connie--my email is:
