Spare a minute?

Making Memorial Day (or Decoration Day) a Monday holiday was its ruination. Now there are those reduced to pleading for a moment of silence. This was once a day of parades, laying memorial wreaths on the waters, and leisurely visits to cemeteries to tidy graves, place flags, and leave flowers.
